The Boys & Girls Club of Craig’s Youth of the Year is Carina Meza
The Boys & Girls Club of Craig’s Youth of the Year is Carina Meza. Carina is an outstanding Club and Junior Staff member. She has been actively involved with the Club since the fall of 2007. Carina’s commitment to the Boys & Girls Club of Craig (BGCC) was evident as she quickly integrated herself in all Club operations. As a junior staff member, Carina provides programs for Club members in K’nex, Arts & Crafts, Homework Help, and she is a strong leader in our Games and Computer Rooms. Her sense of curiosity, integrity, and dedication are an example for the members that attend the Club each day. She completes each task assigned efficiently, and she put a great deal of effort and pride into her work. Carina never settles, and pushes herself each day toward reaching and making a difference for each child at the BGCC.
Carina shows a great potential and leadership in her interactions with the children here at the Boys & Girls Club of Craig. She is responsible, caring, compassionate, and fun to be around. She successfully interacts with the members of the Club, and Club Administration is appreciative of her talent to get every member engaged and excited about the program she is leading. Carina comes from a single parent home, but her spirit and strength have propelled her to success.
Carina is also involved in the Moffat County High School Band, Color Guard and she was a member of the soccer team. Carina is Co-Captain of the Color Guard this year, and this leadership position requires her to choreograph songs, manage meetings and practices and facilitate all interactions between the Band teacher and the Color Guard. This has been a tremendous responsibility that Carina willingly took on and has made great achievements in. She eagerly takes on new challenges, and is unwavering in his sense of service and giving to others. Through all of her multitude of activities, Carina continues to keep a 3.5 GPA. Carina is planning to matriculate to college where she wants to become a teacher or an early education specialist.
